Great Job, #niprockart Students!!

Be Prepared, Semester Two Students...

Starry Night -- Gr. 12 Blog Post for Friday December 7

Your wish is my command... for now! :) Your class selected to research and write about Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh .  It is one of the most famous artworks, and is easily recognized by millions of art fans (and students). To begin, enjoy this video by Don McLean: Next, visit the Starry Night on the Google Art Project .  Make sure to click on the 'Details' button to find out all about the painting and the artist. Answer the following questions about Starry Night: Why is the painting a good example of Post Impressionist art? What sort of struggles did Vincent van Gogh face? Do you think his style reflected his personality?  Why or why not? Show one other painting by Van Gogh that you think is very successful.  Why did you choose this art work?
